Moroccan FM meets US Special Representative to Muslim Communities

Moroccan Foreign Minister, Taib Fassi Fihri, met, on Monday in Rabat, Farah Anwar Pandith, US Special Representative to Muslim Communities.

The meeting examined ways and means to strengthen cooperation and partnership ties between Morocco and the United States in different fields.

Pandith told the press, at the end of the meeting, that her post, which was created in 2009, is designed to implement a vision based on respect for the Muslim world values, an approach advocated by US president Barack Obama.

The American official also expressed pride to have attended, as a special guest, the Fez Festival of World Sacred Music, a symbolic cultural event which, she said, is meant to promote world peace, and enhance dialogue between peoples and civilizations.

Earlier in the day, Pandith met Ahmed Abbadi, secretary general of the Rabita Mohammadia des Ouléms du Maroc, and Ahmed Kostas, director of Endowments and Islamic Affairs at the Islamic Affairs Ministry.
