Initiated in partnership between the ALSC and the health ministry, the PNPCC seeks to provide quality medical care throughout the Kingdom.
The Plan's implementation spanned two years in collaboration with the different actors involved in the fight against cancer, as well as international experts.
The PNPCC includes 78 measures of prevention, early detection, diagnostic care and therapy, and palliative treatment. The prevention programs comprise the fight against tobacco, the promotion of healthy living, and the reduction of behavioral risks.
The Plan includes also a program for the early detection of breast and cervical cancer that would be carried out in over 30 cancer screening centers.
The PNPCC ensures access to health care services for all patients all over the Kingdom via the building of four regional oncology centers in Safi, Laâyoune, Meknès and Tangier, two gynaecological oncology centers in Rabat and Casablanca, and two paediatric oncology centers in Fez and Marrakech.
The Plan is worth 8 billion dirhams ($ 956mln) and covers a period of 10 years.
