Royal speech of March 9 reinforces national constitutional system, Morocco's Historiographer
Fes  The royal speech of March 9 reinforces the national constitutional system and promotes social justice, said Wednesday in Fes Morocco's historiographer Abdelhak Lamrini.

"The royal speech of 9 March consolidates the gains, adjust failure, promote social justice and strengthen the national constitutional system, which preserves the historical patterns of the nation," said Lamrini at a conference on "the speech of 9 March: content and prospects."

In his address entitled "Historical Overview of the Moroccan constitution drafts before the era of the Protectorate", he noted that “the first reform initiatives, which may be called constitutional reforms, were before the protectorate.”

In this respect, he pointed out that there were documents of political, economic and social reforms proposed during the reigns of the Sultans Moulay Abdelaziz and Moulay Abdelhfid.

The 1908 constitution remains, he said, the real document reform worthy of the name, as it constitutes a qualitative leap in a process of constitutional thought, based on the monarchical system, the commandership of the faithful, Islam and freedom of beliefs.
