"Stepping up the rhythm of meetings is an encouraging sign," Spokesperson of the Ministry said at a press briefing, answering a question that brought up a failure of the fourth round of informal talks which ended on Saturday in Manhasset, near New York.
"There is no failure whatsoever," he underlined, noting that "at the end of the three-day meeting, the UNSG's Personal Envoy Christopher Ross recalled that these discussions herald the beginning of a new dynamic in the negotiation process, on the basis of innovative approach, and that regular meetings will follow."
The Spokesperson went on to say that the delegations confirmed the resumption of the UNHCR-brokered family visit program by air and plan to meet with the members of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees in Geneva to forge ahead with the visit program by land.
"We back Christopher Ross's action to reach a political solution that is realistic, lasting and mutually acceptable by all the parties to the Sahara issue in accordance with resolutions 1813 and 1871. We support the continuation of negotiations," he concluded.
