The official financial resources of the Agency "are almost limited to donations of Morocco (55%), Saudi Arabia (26%), Egypt (13%), Iran (4%) and other countries (2%)," Alaoui Mdaghri said in an interview published by Egyptian magazine "Nisf Addounia."
He stressed the need to "step up efforts and develop a plan to mobilize all Islamic countries so that they fully perform their duties in terms of financing development project in the holy city."
Alaoui Mdaghri added that the Agency attaches particular importance to women and children through the launch of projects in the areas of education, health and infrastructure, as well as the restoration of houses and the improvement of the living conditions of low-income families.
He also voiced the concern of HM King Mohammed VI to support all efforts aimed at preserving the religious, historical and cultural character of the holy city.
