There can be no stability in the region outside Morocco's territorial unity -official
Moroccan Communications Minister, Government Spokesman

"The future of Europe and the Mediterranean zone hinges on a stable Maghreb region," Moroccan Communications Minister, Government Spokesman, said on Tuesday.

Khalid Naciri told the Moroccan TV channel "Al Oula" that there can be "no stability in the region outside Morocco's territorial unity. This is what Spaniards must grasp."

"The Moroccans are a peaceful people who have no problem with the Spanish people nor with the country's public opinion, political parties and media," the minister added.

Naciri asked Spanish public opinion on the goal behind its hostility towards Morocco, wondering in this respect: "do you want a sixth state in the Maghreb, controlled by Algeria, a spot of tension and a breeding ground for terrorists?"
