The three-day event, held by the The French Institute of International Relations (IFRI), was an opportunity to tackle several issues relating to global governance, climate change, population and health challenges, economic and financial governance, emerging powers and important groups such as the G20.
The IFRI's Chairman Thierry de Montbrial told MAP that the WPC conference in Marrakech was an opportunity to ponder on governance institutions in addition to the development of the UN system and the G20.
During the third WPC, new issues were raised such as ecological and cyber governance, he said.
The third edition in Marrakech brought together eminent participants such as the UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, President of the European Central Bank Jean-Claude Trichet and Korea's Ambassador to the G 20.
The IFRI is a leading, independent French Think-tank, which advocates collective reflection process and brings together decision-makers to examine on current challenges with a view to improving global governance in all its dimensions.
