Organised at the invitation of political parties represented in Parliament, the march comes following the Spanish popular party’s attempts to speed up the European Parliament's vote on a biased resolution undermining Morocco's territorial integrity and impairing Morocco-Spain good relations.
The citizens taking part in the march are holding HM the King's photos and brandishing Moroccan flags, chanting slogans to defend the nation's territorial integrity.
This momentous popular mobilisation is a further expression of national unanimity over the question of the Moroccan Sahara.
It is also meant to condemn the biased, unfair and unbalanced resolution of the European Parliament on Laayoune’s events.
Moreover, the march aims at drawing the international public opinion’s attention to the tendentious handling by some foreign media, especially the Spanish ones, of Laayoune’s events to tarnish Morocco’s image and serve Algeria’s aims and those of its acolyte the polisario.
It is also a fitting tribute to the members of security forces who fell martyrs in line of duty during those events.
The Moroccan people rise up unanimously against schemes targeting the Kingdom's territorial integrity
Casablanca - The Moroccan people, with all its political components, trade unions and social strata from all regions and of all ages, have risen up, on Sunday in Casablanca, in an imposing popular march against the maneuvers and schemes hatched against the territorial integrity of the Kingdom by certain political circles and media in Spain.
According to the organisers, some three million people took part in this march, holding photos of HM the King and the national flag and chanting slogans in defense of the nation's territorial integrity and sovereignty.
The march aims to denounce the tendentious handling by some Spanish media of Laayoune's events as well as the flagrant bias of some political circles, especially the Spanish popular party, hostile to the Kingdom.
A banner raised by the protestors resumed the suspicious complicity between the adversaries of Morocco’s territorial integirty: "PP = Party Polisario.''
The demonstrators also raised banners reading: “Moroccan and Spanish peoples hand in hand, no to hostile positions of the Spanish popular party against the interests of Morocco and Spain.”
They laid bare resort to false information by some Spanish media and the exploitation of Palestinian children for the sake of biased allegations.
The demonstrators also condemned the exploitation of Morocco’s cause for electioneering purposes and renewed firm resolve to defend the nation’s best interests.
