meeting, on Wednesday in Tripoli, with Moroccan Prime Minister, Abbas El Fassi Turkish Deputy Prime Minister and Economy Minister, Ali Babacan, expressed his country's support to Morocco's candidacy for a non-permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council (UNSC).

In a statement to MAP following a meeting, on Wednesday in Tripoli, with Moroccan Prime Minister, Abbas El Fassi, on the sidelines of the festivities marking Libya's September 1 revolution, Babacan stressed that this position stems from Turkey’s esteem to Morocco and the "strong and historical relations" between the two countries.

He added that he discussed with El Fassi bilateral economic relations, underlining the determination of both countries' governments to further develop them to serve the interest of the Moroccan and Turkish brotherly peoples.
