UN grants 2010 UN-Habitat award to Morocco During the meeting of HM King Mohammed VI, on Monday, with UN Secretary-General, on the sidelines of the Summit on the Millennium Devepment Goals, Ban Ki-moon announced to the Sovereign the granting to Morocco of the 2010 UN-Habitat award, "in recognition of the work carried out in the Kingdom, under the leadership of HM the King, to improve the living conditions of the underprivileged in the cities."
 

      The prize, one of the most prestigious in terms of human settlement, was given to Morocco for its national program in favor of developing the housing conditions of the slum dwellers.

    It rewards people and institutions which implemented the most significant projects in the field of housing and human development in order to improve the living conditions in the cities.
