In a statement to the press following a meeting with Interior minister Chakib Benmoussa, the newly appointed Representative thanked the Moroccan government and authorities for the welcome he was given and their readiness to fully cooperate with the MINURSO.
    Benmoussa reaffirmed Morocco's will to assist Hany Abdel-Aziz in its mission as the head of the United Nations Mission for the Referendum in the Sahara (MINURSO).
