Signed by Morocco's Economy and Finance Minister Salaheddine Mezouar, and WB Regional Vice President for Middle East and North Africa (MENA) Region Shamshad Akhtar, the agreement is meant to support government efforts to promote long-term savings and strengthening financial supervision.
It also aims to boost the access of households and small and medium enterprises to finance, while maintaining the stability of the financial system.
Speaking on this occasion, Mezouar stressed the importance of relations between Morocco and the WB, urging this financial institution to support the North African country in implementing the new projects undertaken by the government, particularly in the areas of justice, health, agriculture and regionalization.
On his part, Akhtar voiced satisfaction with the result of cooperation with Morocco and the strategic partnership, scheduled for 2010-2013.
She reaffirmed the commitment of the Bank to continue supporting the kingdom in its process of reform and development.
