 HM King Mohammed VI laid, on Saturday in the commune of Zeghanghane (north-eastern province of Nador), the foundation stone for building a multipurpose socio-educational center, worth 6.5 million dirhams (some $712,000).

 

  HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Monday in the commune of Selouane (north-eastern province of Nador), a girls' student house, which will cost 21 million dirhams ($2.3 million).
 
    The Sovereign visited this new facility which aims to consolidate the social achievements carried out in the region, proving the importance that HM the King gives to the improvement of poor people’s social conditions, particularly the youngsters.

     The girls' student House of Nador will provide housing for the region's poor students to encourage them pursue their studies.

    The 6136 square-meter facility was built in partnership with the State-run public Real estate group "Al Omrane."

    The House, which has a capacity of 184 beds, includes, among others, three offices, a kitchen, a dining room, study room, three playing fields, and three classrooms.

    The facility will be managed by a local association that includes representatives of university students and various donors.

On this occasion, the Sovereign was given details about the project that will be carried out within the framework of Morocco's large-scale anti-poverty programme, the national initiative for human development (INDH).

    Spread over an area of 1,390 square meters, the socio-educational project is meant to foster the social integration of the poor social categories, the physically disabled, the youth and women in Zeghanghane, notably through fighting illiteracy and social exclusion and promoting training, awareness raising and socio-pedagogical activities.

    The new facility will include a space for people with reduced mobility, an amphitheatre, a club for women, workshops for training, literacy and household arts, a crèche, a library, in addition to multimedia and multipurpose halls.

    During the 2005-2010 period, the INDH completed projects in the province of Nador worth 300 million dirhams, benefiting some 318,000 people.

HM the King Inaugurates New Headquarters of Nador's Investment Center

Nador - HM King Mohammed VI inaugurated, on Tuesday in Nador (477 km northeast of Rabat), the new headquarters of the city's Investment Center, and inquired about the activities of this institution over January 2003-December 2009.

    On this occasion, the sovereign visited the different departments of the Center whose upgrading works cost 1.3 million dirhams ($142,000).

    The new facility, which aims notably to boost investments by supporting small and medium-sized enterprises and industries, includes four offices to assist investors, two information desks, a meeting hall, a reception hall, a VIP hall and other administrative facilities.

    HM the King also received details about the results of the Investment Center’s activities over January 2003-December 2009.

    Over this period, the Center provided support to over 249 enterprises and examined investment projects worth 22.74 billion dirhams, that will enable to create 28,000 direct jobs.

     Moroccan investors benefited the most, with an invested 14.96 billion dirhams, followed by Spaniards (6.7 billion dirhams), Italians, and French.

    The sovereign was also briefed on several ongoing development projects in the northeastern province, notably the tourism development project dubbed “la Mar Chica”, which will be carried out for a total cost of 46 billion dirhams and will include seven touristic sites.

    The public housing projects, also part of the province development strategy, will cost 240 million dirhams, while the remaining three stages of the new urban zone of Selouane will be implemented for a sum of 220 million dirhams.

    Selouane’s industrial park, worth 278 million dirhams, will include zones for differential treatment, trade, small and medium-sized enterprises and industries, a research and development center and green areas.

    Some 70 projects are under examination, with expected investments of 253.78 million dirhams. 

HM the King Launches Anti-flood Project in Nador

Bni Ansar (Nador) - HM King Mohammed VI launched, Tuesday in the Commune of Bni Ansar (northeastern province of Nador), an anti-flood project for a sum of 85 million dirhams (around 9 million dollars).

Explanations were given to the Monarch on this project, which is part of the 2010-2013 urban development program of the city of Nador that mobilizes investments estimated at 600 million dirhams (65.5 million dollars).
The project, which is expected to benefit 360,000 people, provides for the development of the Ouchen, Akhendouk, Bouziza, Sidi Moussa and Chabaat Akhendouk rivers which flow through Bni Ansar city.
Works also include the construction of concrete canals, thirty-three crossing points and a scupper.
The first phase of the project, to cost some 53 million dirhams, involves the excavation of 50,000 square meters, the earthwork of 6,600 square meters and putting up 17,000 square meters of concrete

HM the King Enquires about Progress of Marchicha Tourist Site Development Programme in Nador
Nador - HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, enquired, on Wednesday in Nador (northeast), about the progress of the development programme of the Marchicha tourist site and the project of cleaning and pollution control of its lagoon.
     On this occasion, the sovereign presided over the signing ceremony of the agreement on the cleaning and pollution control of the lagoon's banks and the protection of its environment, worth 75 billion dirhams, and launched the construction works of the Golf Academy of the Atalayoun City, worth 40 million dirhams ($4.3billion).

   The monarch received details on the progress of the construction of Atalayoun City and the two seasides. The projects are part of the first phase of the development programme of the Marchich tourist site, launched last July, which requires investments worth 46 billion dirhams. The works will be completed by February 2011.

     The Golf Academy of the Atalayoun City, which requires an estimated 40 million dirhams, will span on 12ha. It will include a 9-hole par 3 course along with an area for golfer training.

Nador - HM King Mohammed VI, accompanied by HRH Prince Moulay Rachid, received, on Wednesday in Nador (northeast of Morocco), women town councillors of the province of Nador.
     The audience attests to HM the King’s great solicitude for the Moroccan women to consolidate their participation in running local affairs.
