Political parties denounce behaviour of 'traitor' Aminatou Haidar
The Moroccan political parties representing the government and the opposition have unanimously denounced, on Saturday, the comments and behaviour of Aminatou Haidar, accusing her of treason and of being supported by foreign parties.

Haidar, who holds Moroccan ID card and passport, refused, Friday morning, upon arrival in the airport of the southern town of Laayoune, to fill in the embarkation form, and denied her Moroccan identity.
She also supported the theses of the Algerian-backed Polisario separatists, who lay claims to Morocco's Southern Provinces, the Sahara, a Moroccan territory that the north African kingdom had retrieved after Spain pulled out in the mid-Seventies.
The Istiqlal Party (PI), which leads the government, described as a provocation the comments of Haidar, noting that democracy and human rights should not serve as a pretext for a bunch of traitors to plot against the enemies of the kingdom's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
"All international conventions consider as a high treason the crime of plotting against the motherland," member of the PI executive committee, Saad Alami said told MAP.
Denunciation also came from the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP - government), whose vice-secretary general Fathallah Oualalou said "one can only go against this kind of behaviour."
Secretary General of the National Rally of Independents (RNI - government), Mustapha Mansouri deemed Haidar's comments "unacceptable and worth condemnation," calling for being "firmness" against the separatists who profit from their Moroccan identity to undermine the national sovereignty of the kingdom.
The SG of the Popular Movement (MP – government) Mohand Laenser said: "a person who gives up her Moroccan nationality after having taken full advantage of it has no place in Morocco,” condemning as “traitorous” the “attempts of certain people - manipulated by foreign groups - to harm the territorial unity and the values of the country.”
The comments of Haidar constitute a “direct provocation” to all Moroccans, especially those living in the Sahara, which requires the mobilisation of all citizens to face with firmness any separatist attempts, chairman of the national council of the opposition Justice and Development party, Saadeddine el Othmani told MAP.
For the SG of the Front of Democratic Forces (FFD – opposition) Thami el Khayari strongly denounced this “unacceptable behaviour,” while Socialist Party leader, Abdelmajid Bouzoubaa, said Haidar’s behaviour is “indecent,” describing it as a “treason,” and urging for taking the appropriate measures to counter this kind of behaviours.
The Labour Party (PT – opposition) SG, Abdelkrim Benatik said the attitude of Haidar is not only a provocation to the Moroccan sentiments, but also a case of “high treason,” adding that the “Moroccans refuse that a person lives with them while she is working for other foreign parties.”
For his part, SG of the left-wing Progress and Socialism Party (PPS – government) deemed that Haidar just has to leave Morocco if she does not consider it as her country, and “go back to where she belongs.”

The opposition Constitutional Union (UC) described as "mercenary and unacceptable" the behaviour of Haidar, calling for "firm measures" against those who "betray the nation."
