PM says 60% of projects on military installations, 40% on housing for FAR's staff are achieved

Morocco's Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi

Morocco's Prime Minister Abbas El Fassi announced, on Wednesday in Rabat, that the housing and military equipment Agency (ALEM) achieved 60% of the projects on military installations and 40% of those on housing, as part of a programme to build 80,000 housing units for the staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).

El Fassi, who chaired the ALEM's board of directors, highlighted the Agency's efforts as part of the 2007-2011 action plan aimed at building 80,000 housing units for the FAR's staff and promoting slum eradication programme, in addition to transferring the barracks and inaugurating centres of the Royal Gendarmerie.

At the meeting, devoted to examining the 2010 achievements and presenting the Agency's 2011 action plan and budget, El Fassi stressed the need to seek means likely to give fresh impetus to the ALEM’s efforts aiming to ensure housing for the FAR’s staff, a statement of the Prime Minister's Office said.

For his part, General of Army Corps Abdelaziz Bennani, also chairman of the Technical Committee in charge of monitoring the implementation of the Agency’s 2007-2011 Action Plan, underlined that these programmes, that HM King Mohammed VI, the FAR’s Supreme Commander and Chief-of-Staff, attaches special interest, are achieved in good conditions.
