National Initiative for Human Development

On May18, 2005, HM King Mohammed VI delivered a historical speech in which he announced the launching of the National Initiative for Human Development. A far-reaching step to fight poverty and exclusion.

E-Government

Beyond the computerization of existing procedures and processes, the electronic government requires its in-depth configuration, based on an exhaustive understanding of how a public administration functions.

Media Landscape

The reform of the Moroccan audio-visual landscape, which had for a long time been one of the governmental priorities, has finally been realized with the new law on the audio-visual communication unanimously adopted by the Parliament on November 25, 2004.

Human Rights

Morocco has committed itself to reinforcing human rights since the beginning of the 1990s under the reign of HM King Hassan II. the corner stone being set in 1990 with the institution of the Advisory Council of Human Rights followed by the creation of a ministry in charge of human rights in 1993.

Family Code

The family code whose broad lines were announced by HM King Mohammed VI in his speech before Parliament on October 6, 2003, is considered by many observers a real political and historical revolution. This code forges new family relationships on the basis of equity and equality between husband and wife.

Labour Code

The new Labour Code went into effect on June 7th , 2004.  This reform is intended to make the Moroccan legislation meet international conventions, increase work flexibility, and simplify and modernise the Labour Law.

Medical Cover

The Moroccan medical system suffers from a myriad of problems relating mainly to the demographic and sanitary transition, lack of equipment and iniquity in the financing of medical care. Collective financing of health care represents only 41% of the global expenses. Only 5 million Moroccans benefit from medical cover whereas the rest of the population applies for a certificate of indigence although a social security system has been set up for 40 years.

Tourism

Since the national conference on Tourism held on January 10, 2001 in Marrakesh, Morocco has been officially committed in a new policy aiming at reaching 10 million tourists by 2010. The Royal speech given at the conference is the founding act of the new tourism strategy.
