Morocco's phosphates, derivatives exports up 78% in the year to June

Morocco's exports of phosphates and derivatives have posted a rise of 78.4% in the year up to late June, with 15.6 billion dirhams ($1.8 billion), compared to 8.8 billion dirhams last year, according to Morocco's exchange rate monitoring body.

 

    Phosphates sales stood at 3.9 billion dirhams up to the end of the first half, against 3.14 billion dirhams versus the same period last year, up 25.6%, it said.

    Compared with the same period of 2008, phosphates sales dropped by 47%, but rose 42.6% compared to the same period of 2007.  

    Regarding phosphoric acid exports, they increased by 81.9%, standing at 6.6 billion dirhams, against 3.63% in the same period last year.
