The Festival, which brings together several eminent cinema professional from around the world, is meant to promote cultural diversity and understanding among nations, stimulate quality cinema and encourage new talents, organizers say.

An international official Jury will award the festival’s various prizes including Grand Prix of the Americas, Special Grand Prix of the Jury, Best Director, Best Actress, Best Actor, Best Screenplay, Best Artistic Contribution and the Innovation Award.

The festival features a section dubbed “Focus on World Cinema”, which reflects the vocation of the Festival as a "World Film Festival".
