16th anniversay of the Throne Day

 

HM the King calls for implementing constitutional provisions relating to representation of expatriates in consultative institutions and participative democracy

HM King Mohammed VI called, on Thursday, for the implementation of the constitutional provisions relating to the representation of expatriates in consultative institutions and participative democracy and governance bodies.

In order to increase the participation of the Moroccan community abroad in national politics, "I call for the implementation of the constitutional provisions relating to their representation in consultative institutions and participative democracy and governance bodies," said the sovereign in a speech to the Nation on the occasion of the Throne Day.

HM the King also stressed the need to develop an integrated strategy based on interaction and coordination between national institutions in charge of immigration issues.

The monarch underlined that the goal is to enhance their efficiency and allow them to better serve the Moroccan community abroad.

 

"In this regard, the expertise of the Council for the Moroccan Community Abroad should be built on in order to establish a council that responds to the aspirations of this community," said HM the King.

Throne day: Washington "proud" of "strategic partnership" with Morocco

 The United States said Thursday it is "proud to partner with Morocco on a broad spectrum of issues ranging from cultural and educational exchanges to military cooperation.

    Morocco-US partnership "is a strategic partnership, and we work together daily to advance our common priorities of a secure, stable, and prosperous North Africa and Middle East", said US secretary of State, John Kerry, in a release published as Morocco marks the 16th throne day 

     After expressing, on behalf of President Obama and the people of the United States of America, "best wishes to King Mohammed VI and the Moroccan people", the US secretary of state said the two countries "share a strong commitment to improving economic opportunity and prosperity for all Moroccans through efforts to develop its entrepreneurial ecosystem and educational resources."

    "We applaud recent commitments by Morocco's public and private sectors to create more job opportunities for young Moroccans", goes on Kerry who also said Washington is "pleased with our expanding collaboration with Morocco as we seek to address global and regional security challenges and applaud Moroccan leadership on efforts to counter violent extremism." 

     "We look forward to deepening our strong relationship that has endured for over two centuries. I wish the people of Morocco a joyful celebration and prosperity in the year to come", the release concluded.

 TRH the Princesses chair in Rabat dinner offered by HM the King on Throne Day

  Their Royal Highnesses the Princesses chaired, on Thursday at Rabat Royal Palace, a dinner offered by HM King Mohammed VI in honor of female guests, on the occasion of the 16th anniversary of the Sovereign's accession to the Throne of His Glorious Ancestors.
