64th Ordinary Session of African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights Kicks Off in Sharm El-Sheikh with Morocco's Participation
The 64th ordinary session of the African Commission on Human and Peoples' Rights opened Wednesday in Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt, with the participation of Morocco.
The kingdom is represented at this meeting by a delegation led by Chairwoman of the National Human Rights Council, Amina Bouayach.
This session, which will run through May 14, is marked by the participation of representatives of the African Union, African countries, UN bodies and of some 130 human rights organizations.
Participants will discuss several key issues, including the situation of human rights in Africa, the Abolition of the death penalty and the means to fight racism, racial discrimination and xenophobia.
The newly adopted AU Transitional Justice Policy will be launched on this occasion.
