Al Mada Foundation: Distribution of 50,000 Baskets of Foodstuffs and Hygiene To Support Poor Moroccan Families

Faced with the health crisis in Morocco, in this holy month of Ramadan, the Al Mada Foundation launched on Wednesday the second phase of its COVID-19 solidarity operation, consisting of foodtuffs donation for the benefit of the most vulnerable families.

1,778 tonnes of foodstuffs and hygiene, worth more than 22 Mln dirhams, will be distributed to 50,000 households representing nearly 250,000 people, said the Foundation in a statement.

The baskets will be handed to local authorities in each region who will be responsible for distributing them to beneficiary families, according to the same source, noting that this operation was made possible thanks to logistical support from the Marjane Group.

Through this action, the Al Mada Foundation contributes to strengthening the collective effort and the chain of national solidarity in the fight against the pandemic.

The first phase involved the donation of one million FFP2 masks to caregivers of patients contaminated with COVID-19, the Foundation recalled.
