The Arab League Council, at the ministerial level, welcomed, Wednesday at its 149th session in Cairo, the role played by HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, in defending the holy city.

This session examined several issues relating to the crises in the Arab region and the Palestinian question, Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs Mounia Boucetta told MAP.

She added that, during this session, the council "hailed the role played by HM King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al Quds Committee, in defending the holy city and supporting the activism of its population".

On the fight against terrorism, the Arab League Council stressed the importance of a comprehensive and integrated approach to counter this scourge, she said.

In this regard, the session commended the efforts of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Ulema and the Mohammed VI Institute for Imams, Morchidins and Morchidates Training with the aim of spreading the values ​​of moderation and tolerance, according to Boucetta.

In her speech during this session, she emphasized the importance of improving the Arab League's mechanisms for the elaboration and implementation of sustainable development projects based on participatory approaches that put the Arab citizen at the heart of common Arab action.
