Austria: Morocco Elected Member of UNIDO Industrial Development Board
Morocco was elected, Thursday, as a member of the Industrial Development Board of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) at the 17th session of the General Conference of this Vienna-based organization.
The Board, which includes 53 States, is the main executive body of this organization. Morocco will sit for a four-year term.
Morocco was also elected member of the Programme and Budget Committee on behalf of the African Group for a two-year term, which comprises representatives of 27 States.
Therefore, Morocco becomes a member of all the decision-making bodies of UNIDO, which opens promising prospects for cooperation with this organization. It is also an international recognition of the efficiency of the Moroccan industrial strategy.
UNIDO is the specialized agency of the United Nations that promotes industrial development for poverty reduction, inclusive globalization and environmental sustainability.
