Bahrain Reiterates Support for Morocco's Territorial Integrity

Bahraini Foreign minister Khalid bin Ahmed al-Khalifah reiterated on Wednesday in Rabat his country's support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom.

"The Sahara is an integral part of Morocco," the Bahraini minister insisted in a statement to the press at the end of his talks with minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita.

He also noted that Morocco is a historic Kingdom that has always governed the Sahara, reiterating his country's support for Morocco's "strong and clear" position regarding its sovereignty.

He stressed that his country appreciates the important role of Morocco in backing the various issues that concern Bahrain.

The Bahraini minister also pointed out that Morocco has always had a "fraternal and sincere" position of support for Arab countries.

For his part, Bourita said that this meeting is part of the ongoing dialogue and consultation between the two Kingdoms on bilateral and regional issues, praising the uniqueness of bilateral relations.

Expressing the convergence of views between the two Kingdoms on a number of regional issues, Bourita called for economic relations to be raised to the level of "excellent" political relations.

The minister also thanked Bahrain for its constant stances supporting all issues concerning Morocco.

He also reaffirmed Morocco's solidarity with Bahrain on the various issues regarding the Kingdom, in accordance with the High instructions of HM King Mohammed VI.
