Belgium Seeks to Further Develop Cooperation with Morocco in Several Areas

Belgium seeks to further develop its cooperation with Morocco in several fields, Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a general policy note published on its website.

In this note, which defines the outlines of Belgium's diplomatic action for the year 2018, Belgian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs Minister, Didier Reynders, said that his country’s relations with Morocco are “intense", adding that a high-level economic mission will visit Morocco in 2018, which will "give new impetus to trade relations" between the two countries.

The note also commends Morocco’s return to the African Union.

"Morocco's return to the African Union is welcomed and offers opportunities," the source noted.

Morocco is one of the first partners of Belgium. The partnership between the two countries started in 1965.
