Benkirane Holds Talks With Turkish Deputy PM

Government Chief Abdelilah Benkirane held, here Tuesday, talks with Turkey's Deputy Prime Minister, Numan Kurtulmus, on visit to Morocco to take part in the Turkish Cultural Days (March 2-5).

During this meeting, both parties hailed the historical and strong friendship relations between the two countries and coordination at the political level, particularly with regard to the causes of the Islamic Ummah, the department of the Government Chief said in a statement.

Benkirane and Kurtulmus highlighted the initiatives undertaken over the past few years to boost bilateral cooperation in all fields and the significant improvement of trade through the free trade agreement between Morocco and Turkey.

They also tackled cultural cooperation between the two countries, expressing the desire of both countries to develop and strengthen partnership and cooperation in this area.

 The talks, which took place in the presence of the Turkish ambassador to Morocco, Ethem Barkan Oz, focused on the means to strengthen coordination between the two countries in the interests of the Islamic Ummah, and the defense of its priority causes, notably Al-Quds.

In this regard, both sides reviewed the prospects of bilateral cooperation given the role of the two countries for strengthening the influence of the image of Islam internationally.
