Chairman of the economic, social and environmental council (CESE) Nizar Baraka was elected president of the Francophone Union of Economic and Social Councils and Similar Institutions (UCESIF).

Baraka was elected president of UCESIF for a two-year mandate during the general assembly of this organization held on Thursday in Rabat and meant to renew its bodies and chairmanship.

The chairman of Romania's economic and social council (CES) Florian Costache was elected first vice-president. The other members of UCESIF's office are Guinea, Niger and Greece.

On this occasion, the new president of UCESIF surveyed the broad lines of his mandate's road map, namely the dissemination of the Union's social charter and the elaboration of a common platform on climate.
