Dialogue & Youth Festival Kicks off in Rabat in Presence of HRH Princess Mary of Denmark
The Dialogue & Youth Festival, an event meant to support innovation and entrepreneurship among young people, kicked off Friday in Rabat, in the presence of HRH Princess Mary, Crown Princess of Denmark.
This event closes the Innovation & Youth Meetings organized from 30 September to 4 October 2019 in Rabat by the ministry of Youth and Sport, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP) of the Danish ministry of Foreign Affairs.
These meetings brought young talents into contact with civil society, the private sector and government institutions.
More than 100 young talents were invited to propose ideas and solutions in the areas of climate change and renewable energy, urban sustainability, and agribusiness and food production.
Speaking on this occasion, HRH Princess Mary stressed the need to involve young people in the decision-making process at all levels, as they bring innovative ideas and are "agents of change".
The Crown Princess of Denmark also emphasized the importance of providing young people with all the necessary means and support in the quest for sustainable and inclusive development, adding that this is why these young people have been the target of the Danish-Arab Partnership Programme (DAPP) since its launch.
For his part, minister of Youth and Sports, Rachid Talbi Alami, praised the excellent level of young people who participated in these meetings, by proposing ideas and solutions to issues related to climate change, renewable energy, urban sustainability, and agribusiness and food production.
He also hailed the presence of HRH Princess Mary at this event, which demonstrates Denmark's support for such initiatives.
After recalling the particular interest that HM King Mohammed VI gives to youth issues, Talbi Alami noted that his department will work to ensure the follow-up of the various projects launched during these meetings.
At the end of the official opening ceremony of this festival, HRH Princess Mary presented certificates to the outstanding young people of the Innovation & Youth Meetings with their project entitled "Feddanti Tech", which aims to support rural women working in the agriculture sector to be autonomous through a service called "Smart Agriculture".
