EU Supports Morocco’s ‘Crucial’ Role in Africa, Mediterranean (co-chair of Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee)
The European Union (EU) is supporting Morocco’s "crucial" role in Africa and the Mediterranean, co-chair of the Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee, Ines Ayala Sender, said Tuesday in Rabat.
The EU aspires to revive Morocco's role in the EU-Morocco-African Union triangle, Sender told MAP following her meeting with Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nasser Bourita.
Sender said she reassured, during this meeting, the Moroccan government about the willingness of the Joint Parliamentary Commission to support and highlight all the efforts made by Morocco in the fight against radicalism and terrorism and in security affairs, as well as the need to review the European Neighbourhood Policy to bring it closer to its Southern neighbours.
Ayala Sender, who is in Rabat to participate in the 8th session of the Morocco-EU Joint Parliamentary Committee (April 17-19), had previously met with First Vice-President of the House of Advisers, Abdessamad Qayouh.
