FAR Inspector General Receives US Africa Command Commander
Upon high instructions of HM the King, Supreme Chief and Chief of Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), Major General, FAR’s Inspector General received, Thursday in Rabat, Commander of U.S. Africa Command, Marine Corps Gen. Thomas D. Waldhauser.
Talks focused on the different aspects of military cooperation between the two countries ans the means to develop it, said a statement by the General Staff of FAR.
Military cooperation between the kingdom of Morocco and the United States of America focuses mainly on training, combined exercises and the exchange of experience and expertise, with the aim of enhancing interoperability between the Royal Armed Forces and the US Forces, the source added.
AFRICOM, which began initial operations on Oct. 1, 2007, and officially became an independent command on Oct. 1, 2008, coordinates all American military operations in Africa.
Gen. Thomas D. Waldhauser is on a working visit to Morocco at the head of a military delegation.
