FAR Military Delegation Visits Contingents Deployed in Central African Republic, Democratic Republic of the Congo

On high instructions of HM the King, Supreme Commander and Chief of General Staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), a military delegation led by Lieutenant General, FAR Inspector General, and composed of Major General, Commandant of the Southern Zone, of Brigadier General, Head of the 5th Office of FAR General Staff and Senior Officers of FAR General Staff and General Staff of the Southern Zone, paid a visit to FAR contingents deployed in the Central African Republic and the Democratic Republic of the Congo, respectively as part of MINUSCA and MONUSCO.

According to a source close to FAR, these visits were an opportunity for the delegation to inquire closely about the living and working conditions of the soldiers of the two Moroccan contingents.

The delegation noted with satisfaction the professionalism of the soldiers of the said contingents, their good morale and self-denial in carrying out the tasks entrusted to them, and urged them to redouble their efforts and vigilance to honor the Kingdom's commitments to restoring peace and security in these two countries, the same source said.

It added that during these visits, the delegation held discussions with the military and civil officials of the two UN missions on the security and operational situation and on the praiseworthy role played by FAR contingents, which was highlighted by the UN officials.
