FDI Flow Down 46.1% at End of November, Exchange Office

The flow of foreign direct investment (FDI) to Morocco reached nearly 17.7 billion dirhams at the end of November 2019 against 32.82 billion dirhams a year earlier, that is a drop of 46.1%, according to the Exchange Office.

This result is mainly due to the 30.9% fall in FDI receipts, combined with an increase in expenses of 12.9%, said the Exchange Office in a note on the indicators of foreign trade for November.

As for the flow of direct investment by Moroccan expatriates, it increased from 2.89 to 8.657 billion dirhams. Moroccan investments abroad reached 10.049 billion dirhams at the end of November (+35.7%), while the transfer of these investments fell by 15.5%.

Remittances sent by Moroccans living abroad stabilized at the end of November 2019 (59.687 against 59.887 billion dirhams at the end of November 2018).
