Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Minister Salaheddine Mezouar represented HM King Mohammed VI, on Saturday in Accra, at the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo.

The ceremony took place in the capital's Independence Square, in the presence of heads of state and thousands of guests and dignitaries.

Akufo-Addo, a 72-year-old former human rights lawyer, has won the presidency in his third run for the office.

Akufo-Addo, from the New Patriotic Party, received 53.8% of the vote, against 44.4% for the out-going President John Dramani Mahama.
