Foreign Minister Lauds Exceptional and Singular Aspect of Relations between Morocco and Guinea Conakry

Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita hailed, on Tuesday in Rabat, the exceptional and singular aspect of the exemplary relations between Morocco and Guinea Conakry.

"These relations have witnessed a considerable development, especially after the two royal visits during which concrete projects have been launched and are now in advanced stages of implementation", said Bourita during a joint press briefing after his talks with his Guinean peer Mamadi Toure, who is on his first visit to Morocco since his appointment.

He said that the two royal visits have given a strong impetus to bilateral relations and helped with the signature of about thirty agreements.

The visit was also an opportunity to review the agreements concluded by the two countries, he noted, recalling that the Minister Delegate for African Cooperation paid recently a visit to Conakry and held meetings in accordance with Royal Instructions to monitor the implementation of these agreements.

Bourita hailed Guinea for its unwavering and clear position on the issue of the Moroccan Sahara and its permanent mobilization alongside Morocco within regional and international bodies, welcoming the evolution of cooperation and the close coordination between the two parties.

According to Bourita, the talks also touched on strengthening coordination between the two ministries of foreign affairs, particularly at the level of diplomats' training as well as political consultations so that the diplomatic dimension of this relation matches the ambitions of the two Heads of State.

"Since the Royal visit, bilateral cooperation has become solid and multidimensional, involving vocational and academic training, Conakry city development projects and the training of imams," he said, underlining the presence of a fourth group of Guinean imams who were trained at the Mohammed VI Institute of Imams, Murshidins and Murshidats.

"There are so many dimensions that reflect the richness of this relationship and the particular solicitude of HM King Mohammed VI for this historical bond between Morocco and Guinea," he said, adding that Morocco is committed to ensuring the implementation of this vision and the progress in carrying out agreements.

Morocco and Guinea Conakry are very close partners and they must coordinate their stances on all continental, regional and international issues, he concluded.
