The Confederation of African Football (CAF) named former Moroccan international player Noureddine Naybet as ambassador for the final phase of the African Nations Championship (CHAN 2018) of local players, which will run from January 13 to February 4 in Morocco.

In addition to the former captain of the Atlas Lions, CAF has chosen Congolese Robert Kidiaba and Tunisian Adel Chedli, as ambassadors for the final phase of CHAN, the confederation said on Wednesday in a statement.

"These ambassadors are African players who have spent all or part of their careers in the African continent," the same source said.

Noureddine Naybet was born in Casablanca, where he played with the Wydad Athletic Club. He also played for the CAF Champions League in 1992 before his career takes him to in Europe, the CAF said on its website.
