Government Chief Represents HM the King at Inauguration Ceremony of New Panama's President
Head of government, Saad Dine El Otmani, represented, on Monday in Panama City, HM King Mohammed VI at the inauguration ceremony of Panama's new president, Laurentino Nito Cortizo.
"The ceremony was an opportunity to convey to Cortizo HM the King's congratulations and best wishes for success and to express the Sovereign's willingness to promote relations between the two countries," said El Otmani.
He noted in a press statement that "the new Panamanian government, and in particular president Cortizo, have expressed their determination to develop relations between Panama and Morocco", stressing that strengthening cooperation in the various fields has been at the heart of his discussions with the officials of the new Panamanian administration.
Attending the inauguration ceremony was an opportunity to "confirm our full commitment to promoting bilateral ties in the future at the economic and political levels and to move forward towards a strategic partnership between the two countries", said the head of government.
The visit was also an occasion to meet several presidents of Latin American countries and exchange views with them on ways to consolidate bilateral cooperation relations, he added.
In addition, this visit was an opportunity to raise the issue of the Kingdom's territorial integrity, El Otmani underlined, emphasizing in this regard the importance of fostering political dialogue with Panama, to defend and preserve Morocco's interests.
