HM the King's Actions Strengthen Africa’s Position Internationally

The actions of HM King Mohammed VI in Africa have always been in favor of a continent more responsive to changes, more present on the international scene and more attentive to diversities, said Youssef Amrani, Chargé de mission at the Royal Cabinet, who was speaking, on Friday in Casablanca, at a forum on "The rise of nationalisms: What future for globalization?"

For Amrani, "it is imperative to rethink the relationships to be built between Africa and other regions of the world, by reflecting on innovative instruments, through new partnerships, compatible with legitimate ambitions and priorities of the African continent," especially in an international context "plagued by the rise of nationalisms and the drifts of dehumanized and uncontrolled globalization.”

According to him, "globalization can constitute a factor of growth, of exchanges, or even a powerful engine of development when it is mastered", nevertheless, he noted "it also presents risks of instability, ruptures, or even antagonisms if it is uncontrolled.”

That is why, he insisted, "only a more efficient and inclusive model of globalization is able to provide answers to the current challenges," noting that "Africa must regain its rightful place in this new order of tomorrow, for a better sharing of added value created in common.”

According to Amrani, "HM King Mohammed VI has always endeavored to make the continent a full-fledged player in the world," adding that "Africa's integration into globalization cannot be achieved without profound structural changes, through efficient and effective governance that will enable future generations to benefit from a shared globalization in the service of peace and sustainable human development.”

He added that "Africa now has enormous economic and human potential that must be valued for the benefit of sustainable human development", pointing out that it is time "to allow the continent to make its voice heard in the debates on major international issues and thus participate in major decisions, within international bodies, that will shape the future and destiny of Africa and Africans.”

The Forum, organized under the patronage of HM King Mohammed VI, is initiated by the Moroccan Institute of International Relations (IMRI) in partnership with the Hanss Seidel Foundation.
