The Peugeot-Citroën plant, whose building works were launched in Kénitra free zone (Atlantic free zone), banks on a yearly production of 200,000 vehicles, said, on Thursday in Kénitra, Minister of industry, investment, trade and digital economy Moulay Hafid Elalamy.

Upon its completion in 2019, the plant will generate around 3,500 direct jobs and 20,000 indirect jobs, said Elalamy who was speaking at a press briefing, organized by the PSA group, to give information about the progress of this large-scale project which will benefit the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra region notably at the socio-economic level.

This project, which benefits from HM the King's support, is a basic pillar for the development of car industry in Morocco, which witnessed an ongoing growth over the past years, he said.

The plant is expected to reach a local integration rate of 60% starting at its launch and 80% later, he said.
