Pursuant to the high royal instructions, Abdeltif Loudyi, minister delegate to the head of government in charge of national defence administration, received, Monday in Rabat, the British Defense senior advisor in charge of the MENA region, Lieutenant General Sir John Lorimer.

During this meeting, which took place in the presence of the British ambassador to Morocco, the two officials discussed bilateral cooperation in the area of national defense, which includes training, the exchange of expertise and the organization of joint exercises, a statement by the National Defense Administration said.

The talks also focused on the means to further develop bilateral cooperation, particularly in terms of interoperability and exchange of experiences between the two countries’ armed forces, the statement pointed out.

The Moroccan-British military cooperation is governed by a framework agreement on military and technical cooperation, specific technical arrangements and a status-of-forces agreement (SOFA), the statement said, noting that joint military commissions are held regularly in Rabat and London to discuss the various aspects of military cooperation between the two Kingdoms’ armed forces.
