Moroccan military pilot dead in Yemen receives military honors in Salé

Lieutenant Yassine Bahti, who died after his F16 plane crashed in Yemen on May 10, received this Wednesday morning the military honors in the 1st military air base of Salé, in accordance with the high instructions of HM King Mohammed VI, supreme chief and General chief of staff of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR).

An officer from the late pilot company read out a funeral oration during the ceremony, chaired by General de Corps d'Armée Bouchaib Arroub, FAR General inspector and Commander of the southern zone, and held in the presence of Minister-Delegate in charge of the national defense administration, Abdeltif Loudyi, the victim's relatives and other military and civil personalities.

A release of the FAR general chief of staff says that Lieutenant Yassine Bahti is a martyr who passed away while fulfilling his military duty as part of Morocco's participation in the Arab coalition to restore legitimacy in Yemen.

HM the King has also decided to personally pay for the costs of the body transfer, funerals and burial at the Chouhada cemetery in Casablanca, the release adds.
