Moroccan Scholar, Futurologist Mahdi El Manjra Dead At 81

Moroccan scholar and futurologist, Mahdi El Manjra, died Friday in Rabat at the age of 81 following a long disease, said family sources. The deceased, who served as director of the Moroccan television (1954), held several positions in the field of science, and contributed to the founding of the first Academy of futurology.

He is the recipient of several national and international awards, and chaired a number of teaching program development committees in several European countries.

The late El Manjra was a member of the Academy of the Kingdom of Morocco, the African Academy of Sciences, and the World Academy of Arts and Letters.
