Morocco Against Any 'Separatist' Step Jeopardizing Iraq's Security, Territorial Integrity, Official
Morocco is against any "separatist" step jeopardizing Iraq's security and territorial integrity, said, on Thursday in Rabat, minister delegate for relations with the parliament and civil society, government spokesperson Mustapha El Khalfi.
Morocco's stand on Iraq's security and territorial integrity has been "unchangeable" for years, said El Khalfi at a press briefing following the weekly cabinet meeting.
All Morocco's past positions reaffirm this refusal, he said answering a question on the stand of the Moroccan government on the Iraqi Kurdistan independence referendum. This position is one of the foundations of the Kingdom's foreign policy, he noted.
El Khalfi recalled, in this regard, HM King Mohammed VI's historic speech at the Morocco-Gulf Countries Summit in which he called for joining hands to face projects of splitting up the Arab World.
