Morocco Arrests ISIS-Affiliated Suspect

Moroccan security services arrested, Monday in the eastern city of Saidia, an ISIS-affiliated man during his illegal entry into the kingdom through Algeria, the Interior Ministry said Wednesday.

The suspect, from the central city of Sidi Bennour, was wanted since December when he illegally left the Kingdom to join the branch of the terrorist organization in Libya, along with other ISIS elements who were in contact with members of the terrorist cell busted on March 24 in Sidi Bennour, the ministry pointed out in a statement.

The ongoing preliminary investigation, conducted by the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (French acronym BCIJ), led to the arrest, Tuesday in Sidi Bennour, of another man who tried to join ISIS camps in Libya before illegally returning recently to the Kingdom through Algeria, the same source added.

The two suspects will be brought before justice at the end of the investigation taking place under the supervision of the prosecution.
