Morocco, EBRD Set to Promote Cooperation
Head of government Saâd Eddine El Othmani examined, on Wednesday in Rabat, with vice-president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Alain Pilloux, prospects for cooperation and partnership between Morocco and the Bank.
During the meeting, the two parties voiced their satisfaction with bilateral partnership thanks to the funding granted by the Bank for many development projects and its technical support for small and medium-sized enterprises, said a statement by the head of government's office.
On this occasion, Pilloux reaffirmed the will of the Bank to focus its interventions on government set priority economic and social projects.
The two parties surveyed the prospects of partnership between Morocco and EBRD which touches also on promoting the job market, fostering partnership between the public and private sectors in social sectors, and facilitating access to funding for projects under the nationwide strategy for sustainable development.
El Othmani underlined the importance given by Morocco, under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, for the development of the African continent in the light of the Kingdom's investments and development programs in other African countries, which makes the north African country a platform for EBRD interventions in Africa.
