Morocco will enable friendly countries, particularly African States, to benefit from socio-economic development projects in the framework of tripartite cooperation, which the Kingdom seeks to develop with its international partners, Head of Government, Saad Dine El Othmani, said Tuesday in Rabat.

During his meeting with Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš, El Othmani said that Morocco has adopted, under the wise leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, a humane approach focused on development to fight irregular immigration, with the aim of ensuring decent living conditions as well as economic and social development to help stabilize the population of the migrants’ countries of origin, a statement by the department of the head of government said.

The talks also focused on issues of common interest as well as prospects for Moroccan-European cooperation, the statement added, noting that El Othmani welcomed the support provided by the Czech Republic to the various Moroccan issues within the EU bodies.

The talks also focused on the means to give new impetus to bilateral cooperation in various areas, the source said, noting that the two officials praised the excellent relations of friendship that bind the two countries.

They also highlighted the brilliant prospects for developing bilateral economic relations and giving them new impetus on the occasion of the visit paid by the Czech Prime Minister to Morocco, which will be marked by the convening of the first Morocco-Czech Republic Forum.

The two officials examined the areas in which the two countries can further develop their cooperation, notably car industry, new technologies, scientific research relating, renewable energies, food industries and the mining sector.

On the issue of the Kingdom’s territorial integrity, El Othmani reiterated Morocco's commitment to UN resolutions with a view to finding a solution to this artificial conflict on the basis of the Moroccan autonomy proposal that was widely praised at the international level.

At the end of these talks, the Head of Government and his Czech counterpart chaired an enlarged working session which focused on the various aspects of bilateral cooperation and the means to further strengthen it.

This session was marked by the signing of a framework agreement on economic cooperation between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Czech Republic.

The Czech Prime Minister is on an official visit to Morocco, at the head of a large delegation which brings together government officials and businessmen.
