Morocco-France: Government Chief Underlines Exceptional and Unique Nature of Bilateral Relations
Head of government Saâd Dine El Otmani undelined, on Sunday in Rabat, the exceptional and unique nature of the relations between the two nations, marked by shared values.
"The strategic partnership between our two countries is deepening and intensifying, as evidenced by the large number of visits on both sides, including that of HM King Mohammed VI to Paris, on the occasion of the celebration of the centenary of the 1918 Armistice and the visit of president of the Republic of France, Emmanuel Macron, for the inauguration of the Tangier-Casablanca high-speed line", said El Otmani in a speech at a reception held on the occasion of the National Day of France (July 14).
Referring to the various and multidimensional aspects of cooperation, the head of government praised the role of the different economic and parliamentary operators as well as local institutional actors in strengthening the economic, cultural and human dimensions of bilateral cooperation.
He also lauded France's continued support for Morocco's national causes and its development projects initiated by HM the King, emphasizing the uniqueness of the Morocco-France relationship, which lies in the fact that "it transcends the bilateral aspect to manifest itself in a dialogue and a rapprochement of visions on many regional and global issues and challenges".
The exemplary collaboration on issues of counter-terrorism and radicalization and climate change as well as the management of migration flows "perfectly illustrates this exemplarity", he said.
Furthermore, he underlined the importance of the Moroccan and French communities and their successful integration in the two respective societies.
The joint action of the two countries on the African continent can also serve as a catalyst for Africa-Europe cooperation that can help to address many common challenges, he said.
