Morocco Has Every Opportunity to be Host Country of 2026 World Cup

Russian TV channel "Russia Today" (RT) has stressed that Morocco has every opportunity and potential to host the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Despite the strong competition from the joint bid of the United States, Mexico and Canada, ''Morocco has modern infrastructure and a unique road and highway network in Africa, enabling it to be chosen to host this sporting event of global dimension,” noted RT in a news bulletin on Tuesday, adding that this Moroccan dream can come true this time during the announcement of the host country next June, making Morocco the second African country to host the World Cup after South Africa in 2010.

“Russia Today”s also quoted former Moroccan international footballer Smail Triki as saying that ''the organization of this World Cup will be a pride for Moroccans and a great platform to promote Morocco destination.”

Morocco is making a fifth bid to host the World Cup, after failing to win rights to stage the 1994, 1998, 2006 and 2010 editions.

FIFA will make a final decision on the host of the 2026 event in Russia on June 13th.
