Morocco, Niger Set to Promote Bilateral Cooperation

Minister delegate for African Cooperation, Mohcine Jazouli, held a working meeting, on Friday in Niamey, with Nigerien minister of Finance, Mamadou Diop, on means to strengthen bilateral cooperation.

On this occasion, the two parties highlighted the excellent relations between Morocco and Niger as well as the friendly ties between the two heads of State, HM King Mohammed VI and Nigerien president Mahamadu Issoufou.

In addition, Jazouli stressed that Morocco invests and is investing in Africa according to a co-development approach in line with the vision of HM the King.

The minister delegate also reaffirmed Morocco's primary interest in strengthening economic ties with Niger, calling on the Nigerien side to "promote economic exchanges between the two countries by speeding up the signing of the double taxation agreement".

For his part, the Nigerien Finance minister praised Morocco's policy in Africa as well as its interest in boosting economic links and trade with his country.

Reviewing some of Morocco's major investments in West Africa, Mamadou Diop hoped that Morocco would be able to share its experience and expertise in priority sectors for Niger. To this end, the Nigerien minister has undertaken to remove obstacles to trade with the Kingdom.
