Morocco, Palestine to Exchange Experiences in Women's Rights Field

Morocco and Palestine agreed on Tuesday in Rabat to strengthen the exchange of experiences in the field of women's rights.

This came in a meeting between Minister of public service and modernization of the administration, Mohamed Moubdii, and Palestinian Minister of Women's Affairs, Haifa Al-Agha.

During these talks, Moubdii highlighted Morocco's efforts in promoting the status of women and their political and economic participation mainly through the implementation of several major reforms.

These efforts have yielded fruitful results, including the access of women to the legislative institution and approval of the national strategy regarding violence against women as well as the Family Code (Moudawana), which represents a historic leap in the process of supporting and strengthening the position of women in society, the minister said.

For her part, Al-Agha said that the meeting was an opportunity to highlight issues related to Arab women generally and the Palestinian and Moroccan women in particular.

The Palestinian official also hailed the "remarkable and singular" presence of Moroccan women in society, saying that Palestine is willing to benefit from the experiences and projects carried out by Morocco to promote women's rights.
