Morocco Reiterates Commitment to Promote Cooperation with ILO

Morocco's Minister of Employment and Professional Integration, Mohamed Yatim, underlined, here Wednesday, Morocco's commitment to promote its cooperation with the International Labor Organization (ILO).

“Our country's cooperation with the ILO is sustainable, in line with the spirit and guidelines of the Global Agenda for Sustainable Development, and reflects a common concern: promoting decent work”,  Yatim said before the International Labor Conference.

A Moroccan tripartite delegation (government, unions and employers), led by Yatim, represents Morocco at the 106th session of the Conference, held on June 5-16 in Geneva.

Underscoring the achievements over the past few years, Yatim recalled the upgrading of national laws and practices and their conformity with international labor standards.

He said the Moroccan parliament has adopted the International Labor Convention No. 143 on migrant workers, while the government is currently considering the ratification of a series of conventions on the subject.

He stressed that the report of the Director-General of the organization on “work and climate change: the Green Initiative" highlighted the importance of the environmental dimension in the ILO's concerns and those of development policies of Member States.
